Providing four sets of tee boxes ranging from 6,646 to 4,807 yards, Eagle Ranch Golf Course is often enjoyed in various golf packages by all levels in the BC golf community.
LIKES
Beautifully conditioned fairways and greens at this course in East Kootenay compliment the surrounding views of British Columbia’s Purcell Mountains and Lake Windermere. There is plenty of undulation throughout so that you do not play the same shot again and again. The short par 5’s on the front nine enable you to get a couple back.
Just like the beauty on course, the vintage BC hospitality provided at Eagle Ranch’s stunning clubhouse is magnificent. Enjoy the tremendous views of the Kootenay Rockies and Columbia Valley on your golf vacation in the East Kootenay region from the club’s patio, or eating in the Saliken dining room or Traders Lounge.
DISLIKES
The course cannot be walked.
PLAYING STRATEGY
The par 3 No. 2 hole is 172 yards from the back tees, with a carry over water and a pot bunker guarding the front of the green. With trouble short and right of the green it is better to be long. Playing the par 3 No. 16 may look intimidating due to the postage-stamp sized green, however there is room to the right to play off the slope, kicking the ball back toward the green.
Trust your yardage and swing freely. No. 18 is a 537-yard par 5. Most times it is a three-shot hole. Aim for the tree in the center of the fairway with a slight draw. The fairway runs down to the ravine about 30 yards past the fairway tree opening up the approach over the ravine and leaving a wedge into the green.
